Have a Cocktail Party at the Salmon House this Holiday Season!

…or brunch or lunch or dinner, because if you haven’t been lately, you should go and check out the remodeled Whalemaker Lounge!  Ivar’s Salmon House recently completed a significant remodel of their cocktail lounge, which is a great place to bring your out of town guests or to meet up with a friend.

An Updated View

Enjoy the Christmas lights on the boats on Lake Union while keeping warm next to the fireplace, sipping a hot drink or ale if you prefer. The modifications to the lounge had the added benefit of opening up the views from the rest of the restaurant, resulting in a great atmosphere for the entire family.

The Project

The project’s design approach was highly collaborative — with Ivar’s, CB Anderson Architects and Reid Middleton working closely together. The structural work for the project required modifications and repairs to the floor framing system and the addition of strategically located wood shear walls that strengthen the building. Architecturally, the existing bar was moved to the interior of the building to provide an expansive view of Lake Union from the restaurant.
