A diamond of a boardwalk. The City of Bellingham needed a new boardwalk for park visitors to safely cross a marshy area. Reid Middleton performed structural engineering design of the Northridge Park boardwalk. The boardwalk is a wood-framed structure using Diamond Piers for support. The boardwalk crosses a natural marsh area that is included in an extensive trail system. The design included decorative wood handrails.
