Training for trouble. Gig Harbor Fire & Medic One needed a training tower for improving the skills of its firefighters. Reid Middleton was the structural engineer for a five-story concrete fire training tower. The training tower houses several burn props, collapsed floor props and roof props that can be cut. Constructed of reinforced concrete and reinforced masonry, the tower is meant to replicate emergency response scenarios that would be found in large apartment structures, commercial buildings, and industrial buildings.
