The pier is closed for public safety, but the State plans to replace it.

Fish On!… Hopefully. The Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife needed to understand whether to repair or replace a public fishing pier along Elliott Bay Trail built in 1980. Reid Middleton assisted with the feasibility report and conditions assessment that concluded the pier was significantly deteriorated and unsafe for public use. Reid Middleton developed the concept design (30%) to replace the existing deteriorated pier with a modern, durable, and eco-friendly pier, providing environmental permit documentation and a construction cost estimate.

In 2024, WDFW plans to start design of a new fishing pier to replace the old one.  We hope in the not-too-distant future that anglers of all ages will be able to resume fishing in this beautiful Elliott Bay.
