New housing and studio space for local artists to prosper in Everett.
Space for artists. Reid Middleton provided structural engineering design of this six-story, 74,100 SF, 40-unit residential structure, designed to serve as housing and studio space for artists. Shared studio and industrial spaces for glass and metal working were included at the ground and mezzanine levels. Atop the building, a green roof was designed to increase the building’s efficiency and contribute to the structure’s LEED® Silver rating. Another LEED® feature was the inclusion of 24 bike storage spaces alongside 40 parking stalls. The design work included shoring and reused basement walls from a demolished parking structure on the site to reduce the need for new shoring materials and demolition waste.
