New fire station uses 24% less energy than a conventional fire station.
Fire fighting gold. The City of Olympia needed a new fire station to serve the needs of its community. Reid Middleton performed the structural engineering design of this new 13,902 SF fire station that has three apparatus bays and features a large clerestory to allow natural light into the structure. The station is constructed primarily of wood and steel and was designed as an essential facility per the International Building Code. The station achieved LEED Gold certification.
