Seismic hazards of buildings go beyond just the structure; nonstructural elements like lights, bookcases, and HVAC systems pose seismic risk to building occupants. To improve the seismic safety at Naval Medical Center San Diego, Reid Middleton provided structural engineering for the nonstructural seismic evaluation of Naval Medical Center San Diego. Responsibilities included performing field investigations, evaluation and analysis of the seismic bracing of nonstructural components, and communicating the findings and recommendations in a report.
