The existing pavement on a key roadway was worn out and rough. Reid Middleton engineers designed the resurfacing and rehabilitation of 2,800 lineal feet of Des Moines Memorial Drive South between South 128th Street and South 136th Street in SeaTac. We designed the pavement repairs and interlayer reinforcement, replacement of stormwater structures and pipes, installation of new runoff treatment facilities, rebuilding of curb ramps, and installation of accessible pedestrian signals and pushbuttons to meet current ADA requirements. Video detection and roadway channelization were also added.
Reid Middleton worked closely with the City of SeaTac to prepare bid-ready documents in just 49 days! The Des Moines Memorial Drive project also included a city park on one side of the roadway and multiple intersections with curb ramp replacements and signal system modifications. Our team coordinated with the City of Burien, King County, Port of Seattle, King County Metro, and numerous franchise utilities.
