Engineering services including berthing study, mooring analysis, and design for a new fender system, mooring hardware, and structural upgrade of the north and east aprons of Piers 15 and 17 were provided by Reid Middleton. The engineering services provided effective use of the pier facility as a berthing facility for tug boats and two Navy vessels, CG-53 and CG-67. The facility will also serve as a public waterfront park for the newly relocated San Francisco Exploratorium.
