Coos Bay Covered Moorage

U.S. Coast Guard, Coos Bay, OR

Walkway Landscaping

As part of a design-build team, Reid Middleton designed and provided construction engineering oversightfor a new dual covered mooring at the U.S. Coast Guard Station Coos Bay. The new covered mooring facility consists of a metal building on a pile and concrete beam foundation. The covered moorage building is a two-story structure that includes a vessel maintenance shop, drying room, male and female shower and locker rooms, storage, and toilet room. A new walkway connects the covered mooring entrance to the haul-out pier. Plastic lumber skirting surrounds the covered mooring. A concrete float supported by piling provides slips for two, 47-foot cutters by a gangway. Demolition of the existing covered moorage, new fire protection, fire detection and alarm system, plumbing, compressed air system, fuel dispensing system, waste oil collection system, heating, ventilating and air conditioning, electrical, telecommunications are all included as part of the project.
