Reinventing the Tacoma waterfront to attract new residents and visitors is a major focus for the Port of Tacoma. The design of a new pedestrian esplanade complemented the construction of additional commercial facilities constructed on the waterfront and contributed to the fresh feel of Tacoma’s expanding waterway.
