Tragedy, war stories, intrigue, and characters with romantic names like Temperance who held jobs like “wigmaster.” Staff encountered epic tales and silver screen drama while preparing the survey of the 21- mile Shelton to Bangor Railroad. To develop a Real Estate Summary Map for the Navy, Reid Middleton staff were literally knee-deep in archival boxes, going through 120 years of documents that included Title records, deeds, historical records, notes and maps of times gone by. They were also knee-deep in the heavily forested Kitsap Peninsula, surveying land spanning two counties. By the time the curtain closed, we provided an 84-page ALTA map to the Navy and filed an 85-page Record of Survey map with the county Auditor.
