A new, two-story 13,365 square-foot Command Center for the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) was provided with structural engineering by Reid Middleton. The new facility serves as a coordination point for local responders to strategize with USCG Commands. The building houses the Vessel Traffic Control Center for the bay area. Because the new Command Center is critical to Coast Guard operations and commerce in the bay area, it was designed and constructed as an essential facility using the International Building Code. The Command Center is designed to meet LEED® Silver Certification
