Fire Station No.2 Fire Station No.1

ASCE 31 Tier 1 Seismic Evaluations for 22 of the city's fire stations to determine the overall seismic hazard for each facility to provide an overall understanding of the City of Tacoma Fire Department facilities was provided by Reid Middleton. Concept-level seismic retrofit designs were prepared to improve the seismic deficiencies noted from the evaluations. Cost estimates for the concepts were completed and incorporated into the final report. The final report included a prioritized list of the facilities and recommendations for replacement vs. retrofit of each building. The facilities included in the study were constructed from 1889 to 2003, 9 of the buildings are currently listed on the national register of historic places.
