A state-of-the-art training campus that will feature a six-story commercial concrete fire training tower, a two-story residential fire training building, and a one-story classroom building is currently in Schematic Design, of which Reid Middleton is the structural engineer for.
The commercial trianing tower will house several live fire props to help the firefighters train in a safe, realistic environment. The commercial training tower is meant to replicate emergency response scenarios that would be found in large apartment structures, commercial buildings, and industrial buildings. The tower will be constructed of reinforced concrete and reinforced masonry.
The residential training building will also house live fire props and is intended to replicate emergency responses that firefighters would encounter during a typical house fire. The residential training building will be constructed of reinforced concrete and reinforced masonry.
The classroom building is going to be a one-story wood framed structure with offices and classrooms for training firefighters. This building will achieve a LEED Silver Rating.
