Arlington, a growing city with increased need for public services required additional building space for its City Hall and Police Headquarters. To support the 35,000 SF City Hall annex and 5,000 SF police station, Reid Middleton provided site civil and utilities design for the four-acre site. Parking for 133 vehicles was included. The site presented unique design challenges. It was bordered by other buildings, a railyard made site grading a challenge, and the City could not handle additional runoff. The result is a cost-effective design of a stormwater infiltration system that takes advantage of local soil conditions, provides water quality treatment, and returns stormwater to the local aquifer.
